“The Supreme Court’s decision in NIFLA v. Becerra is a strong reaffirmation of freedom of speech for pro-life crisis pregnancy centers. According to the Court, California tried to compel crisis pregnancy centers to “speak a particular message” about abortion and to impose a “government-scripted” requirement about the availability of abortion services. The Court refused to create a broad category of “professional speech” subject to government regulation, and it also distinguished informed consent disclosures by a medical professional. California’s justifications for the law fell far short of what the First Amendment requires.”
