Harris Ripped for Hiding Biden Ticket’s Court-Packing Plan
Sen. Kamala Harris is coming under bipartisan fire today for ducking questions in her debate with Vice President Mike Pence about adding liberal judges to the Supreme Court to offset the current conservative majority.
Judicial Crisis Network President Carrie Severino tweeted, “The former Democratic congressman @HaroldFordJr is absolutely right: It’s time for @JoeBiden and @KamalaHarris to stop ducking the question about whether they will restructure our government in order to pack the Supreme Court with liberal politicians.”
WaPo Article Belittles Barrett as “Handmaid”
Conservatives are condemning a Washington Post article Tuesday suggesting that Supreme Court nominee Judge Amy Coney Barrett should be questioned during her confirmation hearings next week on her connections with a religious group.
“The Brett Kavanaugh sleaze machine is back,” said Judicial Crisis Network’s Carrie Severino in a morning tweet today, adding that Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell is “exactly right: The Democrats and their liberal allies think Judge Barrett is ‘too Christian’ or ‘the wrong kind of Christian’ to be a good judge. That is rank bigotry, and it has no place in our country.”
“Democrats Are the New Know-Nothings”
Attacks on Judge Barrett’s faith are disgusting, but unfortunately, they are nothing new.
JCN President Carrie Severino writes, “William S. Smith writes in Crisis magazine that “Catholics should buckle their chinstraps for the torrential cascade of anti-Catholicism that will be belched up by [Amy Coney Barrett’s] opponents.” He tears apart an error-laden piece in Politico written by a liberal theologian about charismatic Christian groups that ran before Judge Barrett was even nominated to the Supreme Court and then recounts how the anti-Catholicism visible through so much of American history has found a home in the modern Democratic Party.
Meanwhile On Twitter …
“I assume they don’t answer the court-packing question because they’re thinking about court-packing and it’s politically easier not to say ‘yes, I am doing the court-packing.’” – @mattdpearce
“Agreed. President Trump made a terrific selection in nominating Amy Coney Barrett. Now the Senate must honor the promise we made to the American people to confirm Judge Barrett, a principled constitutionalist, to SCOTUS.” – @SenTedCruz
“We’ve now been through a presidential debate and a vice presidential debate without an answer on whether the leading ticket is going to pack the Supreme Court.” – @peterjhasson
