  1.   Mark Matthews writes in the Denver Post that a group of bipartisan attorneys from Colorado, including Norm Brownstein and Steve Farber, “two giants in Colorado’s legal and political world,” wrote a letter to Colorado Sens. Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner asking them to support Judge Gorsuch’s nomination.

Denver Post: Prominent Colorado attorneys call for Neil Gorsuch to be confirmed

Norm Brownstein and Steve Farber, two giants in Colorado’s legal and political world, joined with dozens of attorneys from the state this week in signing a letter to U.S. Sens. Michael Bennet and Cory Gardner urging them to support the confirmation of conservative Judge Neil Gorsuch to the U.S. Supreme Court. The letter, dated Wednesday, is the latest move in a nationwide effort to put Gorsuch, a fourth-generation Coloradan, on the high court… Brownstein and Farber founded the Denver-based firm now called Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck and the two men are some of the biggest political players in the state; Farber was a key member of the team that brought the 2008 Democratic National Convention to Denver.”

  1.   The editorial board of the Colorado Springs Gazette urged Sen. Michael Bennet (D-CO) to support Judge Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

The Gazette: EDITORIAL: Sen. Bennet should support Neil Gorsuch

“If Bennet wants to show more unwavering loyalty to the Democratic Party, he will do as requested by minority leadership. If he wants to do right by Colorado, he will make Gorsuch the only Coloradan on the Supreme Court since Byron ‘Whizzer’ White, who retired in 1993 and remains the only Coloradan to serve on the court…We hope Bennet votes in the best interest of Colorado, the court and the country, without regard for party pressure to act in bitterness and revenge. Gorsuch should be an easy decision for Colorado’s senior senator.

  1.   Travis Zimpfer writes in the Missouri Times that state Republicans are calling on Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-MO) to support Judge Gorsuch’s nomination to the Supreme Court.

Missouri Times: Missouri Republicans call on McCaskill to confirm Gorsuch

Missouri’s constitutional originalists urged Senate Democrats in Washington D.C. to confirm Neil Gorsuch as the next justice of the Supreme Court in a press conference last week. Rep. Paul Curtman, one of the General Assembly’s more libertarian voices, specifically called on Missouri’s U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill to allow a vote on the judge, who Curtman said was ‘in Missouri Republicans urge a vote on the mold of the late Justice Antonin Scalia,’ the justice Gorsuch would replace… Former Missouri House Speaker Tim Jones and Concerned Women for America of Missouri State Director Bev Ehlen also called on McCaskill and other Senate leaders to confirm Gorsuch. The man who lost to McCaskill in 2006 added his own compliments for Gorsuch. ‘Judge Neil Gorsuch has demonstrated a deep respect and adherence to our Constitution in his rulings and is a magnificent choice for our nation’s highest court,’ Former U.S. Sen. Jim Talent said. ‘Senate Democrats should not stand in the way of an up-or- down vote on Judge Gorsuch.’”

  1. CBS Denver reports that supporters of Judge Gorsuch’s nomination, including Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman, rallied at the state Capitol on Thursday.

CBS-Denver: Gorsuch Supporters Rally At State Capitol

“There was a show of support for Supreme Court nominee and Colorado Judge Neil Gorsuch at the state Capitol on Thursday. Colorado Attorney General Cynthia Coffman was joined by state lawmakers and business leaders to speak in favor of Gorsuch’s confirmation. ‘Judge Gorsuch is an extremely well qualified and respected U.S. Supreme Court nominee. He not only has a brilliant legal mind, but he has both the experience and the temperament needed to serve on our nation’s highest court,’ said Coffman.”
