For Democrats, #TheStruggleIsReal

1. Pressure on red state Dems, polling shows strong support for Kavanaugh in the states

Judicial Crisis Network has already spent $4.3 million positively branding Judge Kavanaugh and focusing on Red State Dems ($2.1 mil of that was spent specifically in WV, IN, ND, AL).

JCN also released fresh polling Monday in four red states where majority support for confirming Kavanaugh is solid and opposition to confirmation is anemic.

  • North Dakota: 60% of voters say Judge Kavanaugh should be confirmed, while 22% said he should not be.
  • West Virginia: 55% to 30%
  • Alabama: 54% to 30%
  • Indiana: 52% to 34%
  • SEN. CORY BOOKER (D-NJ): “You are either complicit in the evil, you are either contributing to the wrong, or you are fighting against it.” (Sen. Booker, Press Conference, 7/24/2018) Booker’s presser this week stating that Kavanaugh supporters are complicit in evil. Then today he must have realized he went too far and backtracked telling people to love others…   https://www.google.com/amp/amp.dailycaller.com/2018/07/26/cory-booker-backtracks-aggressive-rhetoric/)
  • SEN. CHUCK SCHUMER (D-NY): “I will oppose him with everything I’ve got.” (CBS’ “CBS This Morning,” 7/10/2018

  • SEN. ELIZABETH WARREN (D-MA): “His nomination is a threat to people of color, to women, to workers, to the LGBTQ community, to people living in poverty.” (Repairers of the Breach, Facebook, 7/24/2018)

3. Schumer’s Document Sham

  1. Schumer’s Delusory Document Demand “By any sensible measure, the document production—unprecedented in volume—that Grassley is arranging far exceeds what any senator could reasonably expect. Have in mind that there has never been a practice of insisting on all executive-branch records of a nominee. If any such practice existed, then the Obama administration would have been obligated to turn over all of Elena Kagan’s records during her year as the Obama administration’s Solicitor General—information that would have been much more probative of her thinking on constitutional issues (and much more controversial) than her records from the Clinton White House.” https://www.nationalreview.com/bench-memos/schumers-delusory-document-demand/
